DA:O Moments Part 8The troop reached Vigil’s Keep by sunset the following day. Nathaniel’s men greeted them at the gates where the recruits were then ushered towards their new living quarters where Oghren was waiting for them. Alistair, Kallian, Riodan, and Zevran made their way to the fortress where Nathaniel was awaiting them in the main hall. The room was filled with a warm light of the cracking flames in the pit in the center of the room.“Warden-Commander,” Nathanial said while he saluted with his arms crossed across his chest and a short bow. “It’s an honor to have you here once again.”Kallian returned the salute. “There’s no need to call me by that title, Nathaniel.”“I’m merely showing my respe…” the man’s voice trailed off as his eyes came upon the change in Kallian’s figure. “By the Maker.” He smiled. “Congratulations, Kallian. You as well, Zevran.”“Thank you,” K
DA:O Moments Part 7The green of the leaves suddenly turned to the warm hues of fall within Denerim. The streets were littered with collections of orange, yellow and red leaves that the children would gather and jump into. Kallian found the brisk air to be a welcome change to the summer heat and humidity. Her wool clothes were much more tolerable. She sharpened her daggers as she sat on her bed while Zevran finished packing most of their clothes.“How’s your set?” Kallian asked as she inspected her work.“Sharpened them yesterday, my dear. I doubt you’ll have need of them, we are traveling with quite a large group.”“A unit of Warden recruits, not my personal body guards.” Kallian started on the other blade. “This is part of their training.”“Yes, traveling three days to Vigil’s Keep by foot is training.”“They do have to learn how to carry their supplies and set up camp. Plus the Vigil has access to the Deep Roads, it
DA:O Moments Part 6Zevran gazed at her in the pale candlelight. Her hair shimmered in the warm light as she silently slept. Her skin had a glow that was not just from her glistening sweat. He gently stroked her hair and lightly kissed her head. He quietly sighed as he sat up in bed. He rubbed his eyes and looked around the room. He carefully got out of bed as to not disturb his loved one. He quietly left the room, wearing only his pants as the summer heat was hardly bearable even at night. The halls of the castle were silent as most of the troops were asleep. A few Wardens were out on their shift for watch. While the Blight was over, they still trained the recruits as if there was one right over horizon. Denerim was still undergoing repairs from the final battle. A few sections of the wall surrounding the capital still needed work, which made it easier for riffraff to snake their way into the city.“I hope you’re not planning sneaking off,” Alistair chided. The Warden smirked as he lean
DA:O Moments Part 5“I don’t see why we’re dressing so fancy, my dear. We’re only visiting the alienage,” Zevran said as Kallian fidgeted with his shirt. “Not that I don’t like the attention.”“For one, we’re visiting my family.”“Ah yes,” Zevran sighed as a slight frown coming to his lips. “The lovely people who cast you out even after you saved them from the slave trade and made your cousin a bann.”“My father took me back.”“After you stopped a Blight and made a deal with the queen for better treatment of our people.” Kallian growled and returned to trying to get her corset on. Zevran sighed attempted to assist. “I don’t mean to upset you, my dear.”“I know. I know.” Kallian took in a deep breath. “You know how my father feels about you.”“Then let’s not go,” Zevran said as he quickly tightened the corset. “He doesn’t h
